Ok. Where do I start. On June 6th I added alot of new goodies to the bucket. Endyn stepper pulley, VAFC (yes I know I have an LS but it works fine and was free), JR BTC and 310cc injectors.

My old 6psi best on the dyno was 168.8whp and 137.2tq. Now after the install of all the above mentioned parts (nowhere near done tuning) we have 175whp and 148tq with an a/f ratio of around 12-1.

My problem is that I can't lower my static fp lower than 56psi (static) with the cartech 2005. I have reduced fuel via the VAFC as much as 33% from around 4000rpm and up. The BTC was set to one click with no detonation. I have since set it to 2 clicks since I left b/c of a little ping. No ping now though.

That is the only major issue now. The car feels much stronger even with the minor gains so far. It is definitely much louder. That little m45 is screaming at full boost!!! It's only reading about 7.5 psi though (DC 4-2-1, straight pipe, GReddy PE).

So my major issue is running too rich with these injectors. I think there is a trick to lower the pressure by drilling a hole in the OEM fpr right? I'll have to do a search. Also there has been some discussion of the B&M command flo to lower fp's as well.

Any help is appreciated guys. Everyone put your thinking caps back on wink

i think the AEM is the best bet for controlling the idle pressures... mine failed though simply because the pressures at WOT were too high...

i have that problem licked now (WOT), but now i need to get my idles back under control... let's go AEM, and get me my FPR back...

I?ve also 310 injectors, VAFC and the Cartech FMU and my idle fuel press was 52psi and can?t get lower.

I bought me the AEM FPR. It is a very nice unit to drop the idle fuel pressure. I was able to go down to 20psi. Now it seems that 43psi at idle and 65psi at WOT is the best. After fine-tuning with the VAFC the car runs much better in the upper rpm with the 310 injectors.

I have tried to drill the stock FPR out, but it does?nt work. It was shown on theoldone.com

I also went with an AEM FPR and am happy with it. I tested it without the Cartech installed and it held a rock solid 25psi idle, 35psi static (that's how I set it). It would go a little lower, but not much.

I'm confused! Holden Are you running both the AEM fpr and cartech fmu? If so, Can anyone explain the difference beetween the two? I'm getting a blower very soon and the Cartech fmu is on my list as a must.

So do I need the cartech or not? I've got to get those pressures down.

The AEM has an advertised rise rate under boost of 1:1, so with 35psi static pressure, the AEM will raise my WOT/full boost FP to 47psi (12psi boost in manifold). That's not enough (it could be, if you fuel controllers and/or a standalone EMS), but the AEM reacts fast. Then in time the cartech (with restrictor in vacuum line) does the rest of the job and raises FP up to 70psi, which is where I need to be with 320cc injectors and 10psi boost.

The AEM FPR will regulate fuel pressure between idle (20 inches of vacuum) and atmosphere (0 inches of vacuum = 0 psi boost). Additionally, it will add 1 psi of fuel pressure for every psi of boost.

The Cartech FMU regulates fuel between 0 psi of boost and maximum boost. It can control fuel in vacuum to some extent, but not as accurately as the AEM FPR or even the stock FPR. That's why you generally need both.
